Margin

#Beingaleader means you need to create margin in your life. I define margin as creating time to think, prepare and build your future and the future of your team. This impacts everything from relationships to business ventures to family life. We get so busy living the here and now that we don’t want, that we forget to create and prepare for the future that we do want.

#Beingaleader means you need time to think. You need to find/create time to think outside the box. To think about what seems impossible. You need time to dream up new ideas; to analyze your current situation from a different viewpoint or just to be creative. Fight for it. Schedule it. Do it.

This can fall within the old adage “Your greatest danger is letting the urgent things crowd out the important.” (Charles E. Hummel) You need to find time for the important things not just the urgent ones. Each of us is given the same number of hours in the week. How are you spending yours in creating your future?

#Beingaleader means you need time to prepare. You cannot just have good ideas. You need to prepare yourself or your surroundings to receive your good ideas. You need to plan. You need to prepare. There might be steps that need to be taken. There might be people who you need to invest in this idea that need to buy into the vision for it to move forward. #Beingaleader means you prepare for the harvest before it’s time to harvest.

#Beingaleader means you need time to build. You’ve thought about it. You’ve prepared the ground. Now you need time to build the dream. Don’t let the frustrations of life pull you down. You’ve invested time, energy and money into your dream. Now build it. Make it happen.

#Beingaleader means you need margin in your life to achieve what you are called to do.
