Too often we focus on the negative and fail to recognize the wins along the way. #Beingaleader isn’t always about hardship and difficulty and failure that you have to overcome as a team. There are progressions through a project that you need to recognize and celebrate appropriately to keep the team focused, encouraged and energized. They need it. You need it. Don’t forget it.

#Beingaleader means you recognize the need to celebrate the small steps or the milestones. It means you take the time to self-reflect and see the progress that has been made. You are on a road. A path. It’s not only about arriving at the destination. There is a journey involved and sometimes you need to stop and recharge the team. They need it. You need it. Don’t forget it.

Some examples of ‘small celebrations’ could be giving someone on your team a gift card for work above and beyond. It might be a luncheon for the group or simply donuts. It might be a shout-out about someone’s win in a group meeting. It might be some positive feedback from a client. It should be encouraging. Uplifting. Celebratory. They need it. You need it. Don’t forget it.
