#Beingaleader means you need to bring energy. Energy to yourself; to your team; to your goals. In order to bring energy you must have energy. So how does one get energy? I am seeing that we all have the energy we need within us. The issue is whether or not we are willing to have it rise up within us and overflow to those on our team around us or whether we will let the difficulties of life, the busyness of life, etc. keep us down. At the end of the day, for most of us, it’s a choice.
Oftentimes, projects fail or take way too long due to lack of energy. It’s not necessarily true that the energy does not exist but rather that the energy is not exhibited to the team and thus nothing or little is accomplished. #Beingaleader means you have to identify what needs to be done and provide the level of energy to accomplish the task(s). In addition, you have to provide the energy for your team until they themselves bring their own energy to the table.
So what brings you down? Is it stress? Is it mindset? Or is it a decision? I am learning that much of our energy is a combination of the focus of our mind and the use of our body. We have what we need within us to bring the focused energy we need to accomplish what is set before us. Sometimes it needs to be a change of vocabulary that can supercharge us. For example, instead of “I can’t” we need to say “How can I accomplish this?” Instead of “it’s impossible” we need to say “it is a big task but my team can find a creative solution.” These require energy of the leader to flow over onto the team. What otherwise seems impossible can instead lead you to accomplishing many great things.
Let’s all learn to rise above the things in our lives that bring us down or take energy away from us. Providing energy can come through positivity, physical motion, smiles etc. #Beingaleader means you need to bring that energy. This is a choice. What choice will you make today?
