#Beingaleader means you can see the greatness in others. Usually before they do. It is a skill to work on and perfect. To practice on those around you. To call them out to be better then they currently are or to help them see what’s already there.
#Beingaleader means you are able to see this greatness and to declare it over those around you. Many times people struggle with their own sense of who they are and you have the ability as a leader to speak into their life and call out the best from them and for them. It’s like helping them remove the scales from their eyes so they can take an honest look at their life and start to believe that they can accomplish what they have set out to do.
At a recent event I attended, we were challenged numerous times to find a person at the conference that we didn’t know and spend 2 minutes each declaring the following over each other: “the greatness I see in you is….” This ranked up there as some of the most awkward minutes I’ve ever experienced. Mind you this was no spiritual conference. This was a real estate investment conference. These were all people I’d never met before and had no context from where they were coming from or anything about their background, goals or dreams.
Yet, they were also very powerful minutes. Intentional minutes. The things I heard from others and the things I said over several people had a powerful and sometimes visible impact. Smiles. Tears. Reassurance. Setting one’s face with resolution towards achieving one’s goals. I saw them all. These were real moments. Moments that are often too long in between from one experience to the next. For some, it might have been their first experience with affirmation of their greatness and their potential.
#Beingaleader means you can call out the greatness in others. You have that power within you. Use it.
