Service

#Beingaleader means that you are in the service business. To your team. To your customer. To those above you and to those below you. If you think #beingaleader is about you, you are mistaken. It is others-focused. What makes you successful is meeting the needs of others.

I am defining service simply as helping others. It’s about two things: focus and giving. Where you put your focus. How and what you give. You need both working in tandem to be a success.

Focus on those you are serving or helping. Those who need what you have. Those who could benefit from what you offer. They are your highest priority. How you can meet their need? What sacrifices must you make to help them? Without meeting a customer’s need you are not in business. You are not serving others. You are not #beingaleader.

Giving to those around you whether above or below you. #Beingaleader means you give of yourself to others whether they are on your team or the end customer. I’m not talking about financial giving. But rather service giving. Time giving. Giving of your creativity. Giving your best. Even sacrificial giving when appropriate. Giving, rather than taking, should be your focus.

#Beingaleader expresses itself in service to others. Serve well.
