Alone

#Beingaleader means you are often alone. Even in a group or crowd. This can occur for numerous reasons. Often it is because you see things differently than others. Have different goals. Different motivations. You see life differently. You often have to inspire others while trying to motivate yourself in the same circumstances.

While you may be alone, you don’t have to be lonely. Lonely is the sadness you feel from being alone. Being alone is often the result of #Beingaleader but you should not allow loneliness to creep into your life. That emotional state of loneliness can be crippling to your drive, your success and that of your team.

Alone also does not mean isolation. #Beingaleader does not mean you isolate yourself from others, their critiques or encouragements. You should stay engaged with your team. Stay involved in the projects and matters you have before you. Even in this day and age of ‘social distancing’ you should not allow yourself to become isolated. Fight again it. Take steps. Communicate. Stay involved.

On the positive side, being alone means you are free to think clearly. To innovate. To create. To take the initiative while others often allow themselves to be clouded by the noise around them. It means you have the ability to see ahead of others. To envision the goal before they do. Perhaps even create the vision long before it becomes a reality.

#Beingaleader means you will often be alone. In your thoughts. In your vision. Just don’t let yourself be lonely in that process.
