#Beingaleader means you have to have clarity. Clarity of purpose. Clarity of mind. Clarity of communication. You need all three. Having only clarity of purpose or mind but not of communication makes it very difficult to achieve your goals. Each of us are better at one or two than the other and so we need to focus on improving the weaker areas in our life.
#Beingaleader means you have to have clarity of purpose. You need to know why you want to accomplish something. This includes vision and the overall reason for doing something. Why are you doing this and asking others to join you? Some leaders stumble right out of the gate because they do not know their why. This is what will get you through those long, hard days. Start here.
#Beingaleader means you have to have clarity of mind. You need to know what you want to accomplish. This includes goals, tasks, and strategy. What are you trying to get done and who has the skills to help you accomplish it? There are larger and smaller things to accomplish. Part of this is identifying priorities and timelines.
#Beingaleader means you have to have clarity of communication. You need to be able to tell people the why and the what in an understandable manner. This is often the biggest hurdle for many leaders. They can understand the why and the what but just can’t tell it to others in a way that others understand and buy in. This is the critical piece to have a properly functioning team. This needs to be worked on all the time. And the bigger the project or team, the more clarity of communication you must provide. Don’t stumble by thinking that your team knows what’s going on inside your head. Tell them the why and the what over and over and over again.
#Beingaleader means you have to have clarity. So refine. Hone. Challenge your thinking until you have clarity.
