#Beingaleader means you are in a leadership position for such a time as this. Are you prepared to handle the moment? This is the moment to rise up. To give direction. To lead. To figure out things that others cannot or will not figure out. To move into action while others are paralyzed.
You have been handed a time of change. Of upheaval. Fear. Angst. The unknown. Or is this time one of opportunity? Most times, it is a matter of perspective. #Beingaleader means you have to have a different perspective than those around you. Vision to see things that aren’t yet. And to help them see it too.
How do you handle the change? The stress? The new ways of doing things? Restaurants have recently learned that they must deliver, carry-out or go out of business. Many office jobs have changed to remote working or have been lost all together. Change or die seems to be the motto of the moment.
I’m reminded of the story of Winston Churchill among many other examples where he was not a highly respected leader until the moment came upon him during the darkest days of the Second World War for Britain. He was a leader for such a time. The people summarily rejected him again almost as soon as the war was over. But he led at such a time that made a difference.
You can focus on the aftermath where he was rejected by his people or you can focus on what he did for such a time as was his moment to lead his people. His leadership was often against the tide. His optimism was needed in a time of despair. His marching orders helped rally the people, the nation, and ultimately the world.
#Beingaleader means you have to rise up for such a moment. For such a time.
