#Beingaleader means you are often overwhelmed. Sometimes you just feel it. Other times you actually are. Overwhelmed with pressure, deadlines, crises, decisions, finances, and life in general. It is important to understand that you will have times and days like that. Recognize it. Deal with it.
#Beingaleader means you sometimes are overwhelmed. Schedules. Demands from work. Demands from home. Demands from volunteer situations. Demands everywhere. First of all, it’s normal for everyone to be overwhelmed at times. Actually, it’s what pushes you to look for a better mouse trap. A better way of doing things. How can I change my life to make sure this doesn’t happen again? Or if I have no control over whether it happens again, how can I better deal with it? Do I simply need to learn to breathe a deep breath and then engage again and move forward? Or do I need to learn to be a better scheduler of my day? Perhaps I need to learn to delegate or prioritize? Don’t lose the opportunity to improve when you are overwhelmed.
#Beingaleader means you sometimes feel overwhelmed. Meaning it could be that if you just organized your schedule you wouldn’t actually be overwhelmed. But it sure feels like it. Emotional. Feelings. Cloudy. Sometimes dark days. Grief. There are a lot of reasons you might feel overwhelmed. And quite frankly, it’s harder to deal with emotions than it is with facts. You can’t just schedule away feelings. So it becomes a choice. Will I allow my feelings to control me or will I control my feelings?
Yes, that’s hard and sometimes impossible to do. However, do you even try? Have you not ever had a certain (bad) feeling come upon you but were able to push through it with the injection of other (better) feelings? Whether a snuggle from a baby or an animal you love or perhaps a song that brought back happy thoughts. So it’s a choice. Make the right one.
#Beingaleader means you are often overwhelmed. Don’t quit. Just take the next step.
