Training You

#Beingaleader means you need to continue to be trained. To get better. To be more focused. Craig Groeschel has said “everyone wins when the leader gets better.” Do you believe that? If you don’t, then you’re reading the wrong blog. I firmly believe we need to get better in our leadership skills/gifting.

#Beingaleader means you need to look for and take opportunities to train yourself, to get better. In the end, everyone wins. Your team wins. Your family wins. Everyone around you wins when you get better at leading them.

For some of you, you don’t ever do this. Ask yourself why you don’t seek out training opportunities to get better at your gifting? Are you insecure? Or too confident? Don’t recognize the need for training or getting better?

I think oftentimes we don’t recognize the importance of the leadership skills/gifting within us and its impact on others. We assume that either what we are doing is excellent already (or good enough) or we assume we don’t have that much impact on others anyway so why bother.

Perhaps you need to re-think whether you are wanting to improve your leadership skills through seeking out training opportunities.

There are lots of opportunities out there. Books to read. Blogs to read. Videos to watch. I still think the best overall training with leaders from numerous disciplines and expertise is the Global Leadership Summit (globalleadership.org). This year was its 25th year and I think I’ve attended about half of them through the years. This year it was all on-line and was excellent again.

#Beingaleader means you should attend the Global Leadership Summit. See you there next year.
