Consistent

#Beingaleader means you need to be consistent. Consistent in attitude. Consistent in message. Consistent in approach.

#Beingaleader means you need to be consistent in attitude. This may be the hardest one so I start with it. A consistent attitude or countenance even when under stress or other issue will provide a level of confidence that your team needs. Volatility is not something you should strive for. It can lead to unease within the team. A steady hand is often needed especially in times of crisis.

#Beingaleader means you need to be consistent in message. Consistency in message creates a deeper understanding of purpose and vision within the team. They hear the pursuit of excellent or customer service or doing the right thing over and over until it becomes a part of who they are as a team and not just a reflection of the leader. The most satisfying point is listening to your team (or your family) espousing your vision as if it’s their own (because of a consistent message, it actually is!)

#Beingaleader means you need to be consistent in approach. While change and evolution of process is always happening, it should still fall within your “why” so that people can understand what you are doing and where you are going. Your purpose doesn’t change even if your strategies do. So be consistent. Know your why. Don’t leave your team guessing by doing something outside your normal approach or they may hesitate next time.

#Beingaleader means you need to be consistent. This is true in all leadership roles whether CEO or parent. Consistency is key to understanding and duplicating the desired behavior in your team.
