#Beingaleader does not make you immune to loss. In some cases, you will experience it deeper and more profoundly than others as you carry the burden not just for yourself but for your team as well whenever there is a loss. A loss of a project. Loss of a team member. Loss of valuation.
You feel it deeper and more profoundly because you are out front. You were the first to have the dream. The first to birth the vision. The first to try and convince someone of the worthiness of your goal. And now it’s gone. And you are left feeling the pain more deeply than the others. The kick in the stomach or perhaps the stunned reality that everything you’ve worked for is no more.
#Beingaleader means you carry it not just for yourself but for the others on your team as well. Your team members feel the loss deeply too but now you are carrying part of their pain as well as you try to make sense for them (while making sense of it for yourself at the same time). To give them a reason for hope or to continue to pursue a dream that seems to have slipped away.
Your strength may be waning but you still have to provide some of it to others. That’s part of your calling. Your destiny. And you are made for it. You are prepared for it (even if you don’t feel like it). #Beingaleader means you need to create inner strength that cares for others and provides missing perspective.
#Beingaleader means you feel loss very deeply. Provide for your team. Learn from the situation. Become deeper and stronger as a result.
