#Beingaleader means you have to repeat yourself. Often. What that means is you have to repeat yourself. Often. Your team is unlikely to get it the first time. Or the second. Or perhaps even the third time. You have to repeat yourself. Often.
It’s because #Beingaleader involves a lot of communication. Communication is fraught with misunderstanding potential. Not hearing completely potential. Forgetting potential. Distraction potential. All of which require you to repeat yourself again and again. Often.
Communicating vision. Directions. Priorities. Lots of communication occurs and in many ways. In person. On the phone. Zoom. Email. Texting. Non-verbal. All of these ways have different amounts of potential for misunderstanding. Miscommunication. And then even if the communication is clear, it can be forgotten. Or ‘misplaced’. Not always nefarious. It’s just life. You have to repeat yourself. Get used to it. It’s part of the job.
