#Beingaleader means you need to be real. As in “not fake”. Authentic. Be yourself. Lead the way you lead. Learn principles from others but don’t try to copy them with mannerisms or style. Let your personality and character shine through. Be who you were created to be. Be real.
Being real will create a level of credibility that you cannot achieve by copying someone else. People can generally see frauds, copycats or otherwise insecure leaders. They want and need to see you. Who you really are. How you deal with the real world. With pain. With victory. With conflict. With appreciation.
Get comfortable with who you are. In your own skin. In your personality. In the way you do things. You are you. You are not somebody else. The sooner you realize that the better.
That doesn’t mean you don’t need to improve on yourself or your leadership. We all do. But do it in an authentic way. A way that keeps your personality intact. A way that is sustainable over the long haul and doesn’t cause you to be someone you are not.
