#Beingaleader means you are not a bully. You cannot be a bully and still be a true leader. A bully is defined as someone who uses fear and intimidation to get their way. Whether through shouting or threats or other forms. I’m less interested in whether you’ve experienced this (I have) but rather whether you act like that or not to your team. #Beingaleader means that the qualities you should seek are the opposite of bullying. These would include having humility and a servant’s heart.
Having humility can be explained in several ways. It shows you are teachable and that you don’t know everything. And also that you are willing to express when you are wrong. These are important qualities of #Beingaleader. You in fact do not know everything so acknowledging that should be a given. You have things to learn from others. And when you do something wrong you should be able to admit it and learn from it and move on.
Connected with this is being someone with a servant’s heart. Someone who is motivated to serve others. To serve the team. To give of yourself for others. Going the extra mile even to your own personal detriment. Trying to find ways to raise others up. Teach them. Compliment them. Encourage them. This is the type of leader many people (including you) are looking for so be that for others.
#Beingaleader means you are not a bully. Don’t perpetuate what you may have experienced. Start with humility and a servant’s heart.
