ROI

#Beingaleader means you seek ROI (Return on Investment). ROI is usually calculated as the difference between your initial investment and your end result. Your return. What came back to you as a result of what you sent out. True with money and other financial situations. True also with leadership.

So what is ROI in leadership and how do you get it? ROI only comes if you invest in others. You have to initiate. You have to give. The ROI you should look for is additional healthy leaders. People investing what they have into others. Keeping the investment paying forward from generation to generation.

First, you must realize that the investment is on the front end. You must make the first move. In fact, even before you can put the investment into someone else you must have enough to give. So really the plan would be first to get the investment of others into your life. To get at least some experience gained through your own involvement. Then invest what you have into others.

Second, you must realize that the investment is always a risk. While it can be mitigated by choosing the right people to invest in you still don’t know what your return will be or if any will be coming at all. You must continue to nurture it and continue to give. Then watch as they start to learn, then implement and then train others.

Whether parenting or leading teams, you give away what you have and step back and watch others use what they have received. You believe for a good result. And plan for a harvest greater than your investment. That is your ROI.

#Beingaleader means you seek an ROI. Invest wisely.
