Ordinary

#Beingaleader means you understand that the ordinary matters. The consistent matters. The regular matters. These are the things that make up your life and they are what make your leadership matter. The ordinary.

We have been led to believe in books we read and in shows we watch that only the spectacular matters. The “significant” is what matters. People we read about are always significant in some large outwardly visible way. However, most of life is ordinary. Most of us do ordinary things. Meaning we are born, we live our lives and we do the best we can. We raise our families and at some point we die.

Here is the irony. It is these ordinary things that matter most. They have the most lasting impact on the world and on the generations to follow you. Being educated. Getting a job. Getting married. Raising a family. Owning land. Work ethic. Values. Beliefs. Passing any of these things on to the next generation is what keeps the world moving forward. You might not have all of these things but you can pass on what you have.

That is where the true legacy is. #Beingaleader is found in the ordinary.
