Love

#Beingaleader means you need to love. What you do. Who you do it with. The goals you are trying to reach. It is outward focused. I have previously written on “Love” but from a parenting perspective towards your family https://beingaleader.blog/2019/06/04/its-love-stupid/. However, today the focus is on those you work with.

Today is the 80th Anniversary on the sneak attack at Pearl Harbor on the American fleet. My focus isn’t so much on the ones that died but rather the ones that willingly put themselves at risk to try and save those that were dying. Personal risk. For others. Because they were part of their team. Their brothers and sisters. And thus they were willing to risk it all for them.

But in the corporate world, how is this expressed? Perhaps it’s checking in on someone’s personal life before the Zoom begins. Perhaps it’s an encouraging email or text. Perhaps it’s publicly complimenting someone’s else’s efforts without focusing on your own. Perhaps it’s fighting for their job during a RIF. There are a lot of ways to express love. All it takes is a bit of intentionality and action on your part.

#Beingaleader means you need to love. Love well.
