#Beingaleader means you often have to stand alone. At least at first. Your job is often to inspire others to join you but it presupposes that you are alone at the beginning. The idea is yours. The stance is yours. The product or service is yours. Alone.
Are you willing to stand alone? To press through without the support of others? Do you sometimes see things that others cannot see? Or worse, they look at what you see with disdain? You might not experience these things as a manager. But you will as a leader. Seeing them before others is the first step. Believing enough in yourself and your idea to take a stand is the second.
What is the level of your self-confidence? Not necessarily confidence in yourself but rather in your idea, product or vision. That it will come to fruition. That it will work. That it will succeed. Or at the very least, that you’re willing to die trying. That will determine a lot of things about yourself and certainly about the success of your idea.
#Beingaleader means you often have to stand alone. If you’re not comfortable with that you either need to get comfortable or stop leading.
