#Beingaleader sometimes means you have to go with the flow. Meaning you can’t plan for everything. Every contingency. Sometimes things just happen to you and you need to go with it. Try to guide it to a successful conclusion but realize that you don’t control everything.
How easy you can go with the flow will depend on a lot of factors. Your control issues, how easy going your personality is, how much you trust the other people that are driving the circumstances. In any case, it will likely happen to you sometimes and you need to be ready for it.
This is a different scenario than when you let circumstances overtake you that you should have planned for and been prepared for. Sometimes things just happen and are unexpected. How do you respond? It might not be a permanent change event but just a spontaneous course correction that might be limited by time and duration. But it will be out of your control. So, if you are not able to control what’s going on, how do you handle yourself? What is your reaction?
Do you lash out or feel out of control or do you go with the flow? Going with the flow when appropriate might be the safest course of action and actually might bring some unexpected and perhaps joyful results to you or your team. Don’t always feel like you need to control and have it all planned out. Sometimes you just have to let it happen.
#Beingaleader means that sometimes you are not in control so just go with the flow.
