#Beingaleader means you need to understand how you define success. Not how success is defined. But how you define success. The dictionary already defines it as the accomplishment of your or your team’s purpose. But that might not be success to you. Or it might not be all you define as success.
Success could be much broader than a dictionary’s definition. It might not be just the completion of a task. It might be making a friend along the way. It might be seeing another grow in their maturity or leadership capacity as you struggle to accomplish the overall goal. It might be growing yourself.
Some might define these as ancillary effects to success but to you they might actually define the success itself and therefore worth the struggle. In the end, the steps along the way might be the greater successes. The question for you is whether you can see these as successes or whether you are too busy or distracted to even notice them.
