#Beingaleader means you need to recognize and celebrate milestones. Recognize and celebrate. One of the things a leader needs to do is recognize the milestones. That’s often overlooked.
Milestones are often thought of when discussing birthdays or anniversaries. Now those are all important. But often the milestones overlooked are the completion of a project. A significant task. A hurdle overcome. Or simply a job done well. These are too often viewed as just part of the job and thus not recognized.
Your team, whether family, employees, or volunteers, appreciate it when you recognize them whether in private or publicly for their accomplishments. Certainly our little ones like it when we celebrate their ability to walk or say a word (whether totally comprehensible or not). So it’s not always perfection we should be looking for.
A few well placed words, small tokens of appreciation or commendations can go a long way to having a satisfied work force or team. Many leaders are pretty good at celebration when called upon but often lack sight into the recognition part thus limiting the number of celebratory occasions.
#Beingaleader means you need to recognize and celebrate milestones. Recognize them and make them noteworthy.
