#Beingaleader means you need to get good at giving thanks. To others. For successes. For things you’ve gone through.
You need to make giving thanks to others a matter of habit. Whether they are part of your team or those that impact your life in some way. Giving thanks to them acknowledges their impact on who you are today. How they impacted your success. How they impacted your learning. How they helped shape who you are today. Don’t neglect this. So, give thanks.
Giving thanks for successes should be easy. However, the hardest part is usually identifying them as you often take those for granted and assume them. You don’t usually give thanks for your health until you are not well and you recognize you have taken that for granted. It’s like your giftings. You assume others can do specific things as well or as easily as you can. But you are good at some things and not good at others. So, give thanks.
Giving thanks for things that you’ve gone through is recognizing that even the hard things have helped you get to where you are today. Giving thanks comes from perspective. Perspective comes from a combination of time and wisdom. The time to understand the importance of the hurdles. The wisdom to understand their impact on your growth. So, give thanks.
