#Beingaleader means that you often have things, circumstances or people that drain you. Emotionally. Energy-taking. Whatever it or they can take from you. And you need to learn how to deal with those situations and people so they don’t bring you down or drain the energy from you.
#Beingaleader means you need to recognize the things that drain you. What things or activities cause the drain of energy or emotion from you? Identification of these activities is important so you can create a strategy for avoiding them in the future. That may sound easy, right? However, often these activities are part of your life and others may not see them as draining for you. If not, they might wonder why you are stopping doing something that others find so great. But you need to be true to yourself and knowing what you can handle. That’s the hardest part.
#Beingaleader means that you need to recognize the circumstances that drain you. What events emotionally trigger you? Now, I’m not specifically thinking about family gatherings at Christmas! But there are circumstances that always drain out of you the things you need to keep going. Drain the will out of you. Drain the ideas and creativity. Identify them. Avoid these as much as possible. Or at least be prepared for them ahead of time so you can limit the damage to you.
#Beingaleader means that you need to recognize which people drain you. This is a hard one. Who are they and what should you do about it? Some, you need to let go of to go drain others. You need to let them leave your life. Others, you might need to learn to deal with in a more healthy manner. They may be integral to your life or family and cannot easily remove them from your life so you need to find ways to take them in short bursts. Or perhaps in another limited fashion where you have time to recharge in between. Some people just need your love and attention and you decide to keep helping them even though it could be detrimental to you. Part of #Beingaleader is discerning which one is appropriate in the situation you find yourself in.
#Beingaleader means you may have things, circumstances and people that drain you. Don’t let them pull you down.
