Extra

#Beingaleader means you have to give extra. Extra time. Extra energy. Extra work. You have to give extra. You can’t expect it from others without giving it first.

Extra time. Arrive first. Stay late. You are the example especially in a volunteer situation. You are setting the example. You are the one trying to lead others to do the same. Give extra time.

Extra energy. Give more. Expend more. Show more. This might not be forever. But at the beginning of a project or team or whatever, you have to give more energy. You have to set the bar you want others to reach. Setting what is expected. What’s normal for this team.

Extra work. You need to work harder. In a family situation, as parents you need to work harder than the little kids. Again, you are setting an example. Not just for then to emulate but for them to embrace later in life as they embark 6in their own path. Stages of life afford you different levels of energy and ability to work but in the beginning you are the one to work harder.
