#Beingaleader means you need to be intentional. About your leadership. About your goals. Don’t leave it to chance. Make up your mind about what you want to do, the values you want to bring, the steps you want to take. And then take them. And lead others to do the same.
Another word for intentional is deliberate. On purpose. For a purpose. Focused energy to push you in the direction you or your team needs to go. Being deliberate is partially about being careful and using thorough consideration before taking steps. The second part is actually taking the steps. Intentionally.
The opposite of being intentional is to do something without design. Haphazard. Letting things happen without providing any guidance. In other words, chaos. We see this too often in teams where guidance is infrequent or unclear. Where values are unknown or unspoken. Unintentional leadership is non-existent leadership. Such ‘leadership’ is damaging to all involved. Don’t be that leader.
