Continue to learn. Read. Listen. Go to conferences. Get information from every industry you can to see what is working in the marketplace. Your ideas might never change. Your vision might never change. But you often need to modernize your methodology to fit the times. What motivates someone today might not motivate them at a different stage of life. What worked or sold before might not today.

Continue to experiment with new ways. Try the one thing you’ve learned recently and see how it plays out on your team. Society is moving very quickly today. Your methodology might need to be updated constantly. You might not be able to rely on what worked even last year. Try something new. Some call that a flyer. Take a chance. Even if it’s a small one. See what the results will be and go from there. Modernize your thinking.

Plan for success. Present and future. Don’t let the past success dictate what you must do in the future as it might not yield the same result. We can too often rely on the successes of the past and say ‘that’s the way it works’. But when you try it today, it doesn’t work. Modernize your thinking so you can look back on successes but also have current and future ones. Don’t settle for just the past. Modernize.
