#Beingaleader does not mean you have all the answers. The sooner you come to that realization, the better leader you will be. You will need to seek after them, however. It is your job to find the source of the answers you are seeking because at the end of the day, it is you that must make a decision.
#Beingaleader means that you need to find the answers. If not from your experiences, then you need to look to others. Mentors (dead or alive). Friends. Colleagues. Your subordinates. All of these can be sources of the answers you are seeking.
This takes inquisitiveness. Humility. Openness to the ideas of others. And it can come from the training you provided and invested into others that became the reservoir for the answers that you seek. Never underestimate what others can bring to the table to make you or the team successful. Too many leaders feel that they must provide the answers. That they are the exclusive source. That others will see weakness if they do not see the answers come from their leader.
But the reality is very different. People look to their leaders for ways to be successful. If you can show them success through multiple paths, then they will learn much more quickly how to be successful themselves. Help them see that you are not an island. That you seek the help of others. That you value the input of others. That you often rely on the answers that others provide. This is the best example you can be.
#Beingaleader means you will not have all the answers. Seek them out and by so doing, train others.
