#Beingaleader means you find certain things easy to do. Things that seem easy for you to do are the very strengths that make you the leader you are.
This was an interesting thought that took me a while to comprehend. I thought that things that were easy to do for me were just easy to do. I would be puzzled why they seemed hard for others. Because they were easy. For me.
What I learned was that things that are easy for me are different than the things that others find easy to do. Some of you can stand and talk to a stranger for hours on end. Small talk. You find that easy to do. I’ve grown in this area so I can do it but man does it take work for me. It’s not easy for me.
Likewise, the things I find easy to do are often hard for others to do. I find making decisions at work easy to do. It comes pretty natural to me. I’ve learned there are big and small decisions and have the ability to decipher which one I’m dealing with. Decision making is easy. For me. But, man do others have difficulty with making decisions. Some can spend an hour deciding where to eat. Or whether to do one activity vs. another. It’s not easy for them. They have other strengths.
#Beingaleader means you need to recognize what comes easy for you and lean into those strengths. Just recognize that other leaders have other strengths.
