#Beingaleader means you need to be good at decision making. I’ve partially touched on this before on one of my first posts on this blog (https://beingaleader.blog/2019/01/29/decisions/). But decision making is a day to day event in a leader’s life. A leader needs not only to make good decisions, but be good at the decision making process.
So what is the decision making process? It involves things like bringing personal or observed experience to the table. It includes the wisdom you have gained over time. It involves the counsel of others on certain matters. It’s about weighing pros and cons. But it’s also about actually making the decision and living with the results that come from that decision.
The whole point of this blog is to learn wisdom, gain experience and to be able to work through a problem or get to a decision point. But at the end of the day, you actually have to make the decision. That’s hard for some. Perhaps hard for most because we don’t always know what lies beyond the decision. How will this affect me long term? Are there things I’m not aware of that will hurt me? Are there things that I will greatly benefit from by making this decision?
It’s really about trying to know the unknown. We put our best information and strategies together and make certain assumptions based upon how previous decisions have turned out. But at the end of the day, you jump.
#Beingaleader means you need to be good at decision making. Jump already.
