Starting Over

#Beingaleader means that you sometimes have to start over. Everything is new again.

There is a physical and emotional component to starting over. Physically, you have to get accustomed to a new schedule. A new cadence. Meeting new people while digging into the projects themselves. Dealing with new experiences. New team members with varied experience. Not knowing their strengths and weaknesses. Exploring their personalities and determining their triggers.

Emotionally, you have to deal with the past and anticipate the future. The past could be about feeling failure. Being cast aside. Being chosen to not continue with that team. This is a hurdle you will need to confront, deal with and move on from. Looking forward, the emotion could be excitement, trepidation, curiosity or, likely, a mixture of all three. What will this new challenge be? Who will these new people be? What unknowns will I encounter?

Starting over can be difficult. It can also be exhilarating. An opportunity to prove yourself. To meet the challenges and prevail. Not just to show others that you can do it, but to show yourself that you were made for this time. You were prepared for this time.

#Beingaleader means that you sometimes have to start over. Start over well.
