#Beingaleader means you need a strategy. I thought out plan. More than just a goal or a vision. But steps to get to where you want to be. The how. Not just the why. A plan of action. A strategy.

Whether you are a small team leader or a large corporate executive, you need a strategy. A strategy for how to get, keep or train the right people. A strategy for winning in the market place. A strategy for dealing with conflict. A strategy for compensation for your team. A strategy for essentially everything. A plan of action.

Too many leaders simply react. Strategy is about being proactive. Taking the steps that are needed to be successful. Even if you aren’t ready to fully implement your strategy (lack of money, opportunity or timing) you still should know what you want to see in the coming days. And steps that will be required to get there.

Many people see leaders as simply having a vision. And vision is important. But vision without strategy is still just a dream. A dream that will not likely come to fruition unless you surround yourself with the folks that can bring about that dream. That have a strategy to get you there.
