Cyclical

#Beingaleader means you understand that life is cyclical. There are cycles to everything. To leadership. To projects. To teams. To work. To, well, everything.

There’s the beginning. The start up. The excitement. The honeymoon. Then it becomes steady. The normal. The anticipated. Then, sometimes, it becomes the stale. The rigid. The never changing. Then, new ideas are brought to bare. Change begins to happen. And it all begins again.

So, everything is forever changing. Change is the only constant. We should be used to that by now. That means you can anticipate the cyclical nature of your situation. Maybe not change, but renewal can occur. The process by which the old becomes new again. Sometimes via an attitude adjustment. Sometimes via an actual change in circumstance. Either way, it’s cyclical.

The key is to keep learning. Keep rethinking. Don’t get stuck in the old ways. Keep pushing for the new way of doing things. If things are becoming stale, look for ways to rejuvenate. To realign. Recognize that just because something needs to be rejuvenated it doesn’t mean there was anything wrong with it. It’s just that perhaps its time has come to be renewed. Allow your understanding of the cyclical nature of our lives to free your mind to think in new and strategic ways.
