#Beingaleader means you need to be looking ahead. Taking stalk of what has gone before, but be looking ahead to what is and what might be coming.
This is the start of my 7th year of weekly blogging on various leadership topics. A lot has gone before. But the question for today is: what is coming in the future? How are we looking ahead to the next steps in this adventure called leadership? What are we learning from the past and what are we applying to the future?
Have you learned anything this year about leadership? Have you added anything new to your leadership toolkit? Perhaps you’ve learned to take on more responsibility. Perhaps you’ve read more. Or listened more. Perhaps you’ve completed a project for the first time. Or learned to lead others better through more complete communication. Whatever it is, do more of that.
As you look ahead to this new year, be more intentional about learning about leadership. Be more intentional about applying what you’ve already learned. Be more intentional about getting better as a leader. Because when the leader gets better, everyone wins. And we need better leaders more than ever.
