#Beingaleader means you need to know your level of satisfaction from what you lead.
What level of satisfaction are you experiencing? How fulfilled are you in what or how you are leading? Not every moment. Not even every day. But overall satisfaction. You should be experiencing it. If you don’t, then you might not be leading in the right place or doing the right things to keep your leadership fire going.
So, how do you measure your level of satisfaction in what you lead? Or in your leadership style? It’s one thing to be successful in what you do. It might be another thing to be satisfied with what you do. It’s not all about happiness of course but satisfaction in what you do leads to a lot of other fulfillment, contentment or even gratification. Are you able to rest at night? Are you able to work through any anxiousness? What’s your level of ‘feeling successful’? What actual successes have you experienced? Measuring all or some of these will give you an idea of your level of satisfaction in your leadership.
What’s interesting to me is that your level of satisfaction is not at all tied with how others respond, react or otherwise deal with your leadership. Satisfaction comes from within. It’s part of self-leadership and it goes to the core of why you are a leader in the first place. Are you where you need to be? Are you doing that thing or things that drive you?
