Standards

#Beingaleader means that you need standards. Standards for your team. Standards for others. Standards for your life. A measuring stick for how you act, how they act and what is acceptable in your life.

#Beingaleader means that you have standards for your team. Standards they know about and must follow. Whether it’s for a product, a process or simply how they treat you and each other. What the standards are must be repeated over and over. Letting everyone know what page to be on. If you truly are one team then you need to work by the same set of standards. Everyone needs to know they can count on a certain level of behavior, quality of product or whatever.

#Beingaleader means that you have standards for others. The customer isn’t always right. Nor are those around you. They might be wrong in their beliefs, their behavior or in their expectations of you. Holding them to at least minimal level of standards will protect you from some abuse or maltreatment. You cannot prevent all of this and it might depend on your station in life but for those areas over which you have personal control, demand a level of respect from others in order to be let into your life. Life is simply too short to allow others to dictate your happiness.

#Beingaleader means that you have standards for your life. You need to expect great things for yourself. And from yourself. The way you want to act. The person you want to be or at least strive to be. Set the standards for your life high. From work ethic. To treating others with compassion and respect. Holding your temper. Measuring your response. Hold yourself to a higher standard. And increase it over time.

#Beingaleader means that you have standards. Make sure you choose them wisely.
