Fair

#Beingaleader means you need to be fair. Even keeled. Fair-minded. And equal in your treatment of people and situations.

Fair means to be just and impartial. Not showing favoritism to anyone. Unbiased. And it’s really hard to do. When dealing with people, it is inevitable that you have favorites. That doesn’t necessarily mean you like one person higher than another, but rather one person makes your life easier then the other. Maybe they don’t ask as many annoying questions. Maybe they don’t make as many mistakes. Maybe they have more experience.

So it’s natural to be unfair in your treatment of others. But the goal is to do the right thing. Teach others. Give them experience. Treat them with fairness. Don’t do anything to the disadvantage of those who might not do it exactly the way others would do it and that you would want to be done. Rather show them how to do it. Train them. Be fair.

Be fair in your praise as well. Don’t just praise those who can give you something in return. Praise the work that has been accomplished. Praise the attitude that was shown. Praise the result that was achieved. Without bias or impartiality. Be fair to all.

#Beingaleader means you need to be fair. Practice it today.
