Patterns

Beingaleader means you need to recognize patterns. Keep the ones you want. Disrupt the ones you don’t. And then create the new ones that you do want as replacements. Once you start to see them you won’t be able to unsee them. They are everywhere. Patterns.

Your life is full of patterns. Good and bad. Repeated behavior on your team that continues to lead to predictable results. Again, some good and some bad. We need to evaluate the good and try to replicate them into other areas. We need to evaluate the bad and change them so that we can improve results in those areas. Patterns.

The overused definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. But that’s what a bad pattern is. Doing it over and over. Getting a bad result but still wanting something different to result. You must change the pattern to get a different result.

Changing a pattern is hard work. It requires intentionality. It requires focused effort. It requires action on your part. It might require retraining someone. It might require taking over a meeting that needs to be refocused. It might mean putting someone different into that role to see a different results. Patterns. Hard to break. But absolutely needed in order to get a different result.

Beingaleader means you need to recognize patterns. Find one today and evaluate it.
